Q: With retail gas prices as high as they are, how can I increase my fuel milage?
A: We have listed the top 10 tips to help increase your fuel milage. Click TOP TEN to review them. By following these simple tips you will see an increase immediately!

Q: Our company uses gasoline in golf carts and do not drive them on the highway. Do we still have to pay all highway taxes on gasoline?
A: Absolutely! There are no tax exemptions on gasoline except for most government municipalities. Marinas, golf courses, go kart track and others must pay all applicable taxes on gasoline.

Q: Why do I have to pay FLORIDA STATE SALES TAX on dyed off road diesel?  What other taxes may be charged on DYED DIESEL? I thought off road diesel was tax free!
A1: This becomes confusing to many. The TAX FREE portion of dyed diesel is the exemption of road taxes. Exempt road taxes include The Federal Excise Tax (FET), The State Road Tax (SRT) and your Local (County) Option Tax (LOT). The only taxes charged on TAX FREE DIESEL are The Federal Oil Spill Tax, State Pollution Tax and in most all cases Florida State Sales Tax.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your current fuel supplier is NOT charging you FLORIDA STATE SALES TAX on all off road diesel purchases, you may need to check and see if your company should be remitting the tax directly to the state. In most all cases FLORIDA STATE SALES TAX must be paid. It is not the suppliers responsibility to collect and remit the tax, it rest completely with the END USER (YOU!). Very few exemptions apply in this case, however they do exist. If you would like to know if your company should be remitting sales tax to the state on your purchases, please e-mail or call our office at 850-814-4253 and ask to speak to Robbie Stewart. Robbie will help you determine if or who needs to remit the sales tax.

Q: My vessel holds 11,000 gallons of diesel, but I only want to purchase 5,000 gallons. Why can’t a local marina sell me diesel?
A: Any vessel that has a maximum capacity of 10,500 gallons (250 barrels) or more, must have their fuel transferred onto their vessel by a company that is licensed by the US Coast Guard. These license are call Bunkering License. It is not determined by the quantity you want to receive but the overall capacity of the vessel. If you only wanted 100 gallons you would still have to have a company transfer the fuel that has Bunkering License. This becomes what is referred to as a regulated transfer. If you or the company transferring the fuel do not have a bunkering license and are noticed by the US Coast Guard, the fines start at $25,000.00!
